The Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro "Desert Moss" is the second collaborative Air Jordan 4 project between Union Los Angeles and Jordan Brand, continuing the partnership's mission of reimagining one of the most iconic basketball silhouettes through a vintage-inspired, streetwear-focused lens. Building upon the success of the "Guava Ice" release, the "Desert Moss" introduces a bolder color palette while preserving the collaboration's signature retro aesthetic and premium craftsmanship.
The design is inspired by 1990s outdoor apparel, vintage sportswear, and the DIY customization culture that influenced both basketball and street fashion. The sneaker features a premium Desert Moss suede upper, contrasted by striking Purple mesh panels and Turquoise Blue accents on the eyelets and heel tab, creating a vibrant color combination reminiscent of classic outdoor gear from the early '90s. Like the original Union LA collaboration, the shoe retains the distinctive folded tongue, inspired by the way basketball players often tucked or folded their tongues for comfort and style during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Signature Union details—including the yellow UN/LA woven tag, exposed stitching, translucent support wings, and visible Air-Sole cushioning—blend seamlessly with Tinker Hatfield's original Air Jordan 4 design, creating a perfect balance between heritage basketball performance and contemporary streetwear.
